Grunt fish

It has an oval body with a slightly high dorsal profile, and a slightly arched head profile, compressed laterally, occupying the head approximately a quarter of the total length of the fish. The eyes stand out in the cephalic region, as they are relatively large, prepared to take advantage of the scarce night light. The mouth is small and oblique, with small and very fine teeth barely visible in both jaws. It emits a sound in the form of snoring produced by the pharynx from which it takes its name.
